Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union will strike on Friday 19 August as a part of their long-running battle over jobs and pensions.

The RMT and TSSA unions have already announced strikes on 18 and 20 August involving greater than 40,000 staff at Community Rail and quite a lot of prepare operators.

And the RMT will even maintain a 24-hour rail strike tomorrow after talks failed.

The union mentioned that the brand new London Underground strike had been prompted by Transport for London’s refusal to share particulars of a draft authorities proposal they obtained relating to funding of the capital’s transport system.

RMT common secretary Mick Lynch mentioned: “Our members will as soon as once more take to picket traces on this vital dispute over pensions, jobs and situations.

“They’ve been messed round by TfL and Mayor Sadiq Khan. And so as to add insult to damage, they haven’t seen the element of this funding letter from Authorities.

“Except there might be assurances made about jobs, pensions and detrimental modifications to working situations, then our strike on August 19 will go forward.”

The union mentioned it could give TfL till 2 August to present assurances on jobs, pensions, and dealing situations.
